Celia Young, a twelve-year-old from St. Simons Island, has started her own Bridge Fund in partnership with the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation (CCGF). Created to support her charitable efforts, Helping People In Need (HPIN) will be managed and grown through CCGF and anyone in the community can contribute. Inspired by her grandmother’s charitable spirit, Celia discovered a passion for helping others at an early age. At just seven years old, she founded HPIN with a goal of helping as many people as possible. Since then, she has raised over $30,000 in support of Glynn County organizations, including Hope 1312 Collective, Sparrows Nest, and Communities in Schools, among others.

For her most recent fundraising campaign --a children’s artwork auction—Celia and her friends raised over $5,000 to purchase sleeping bags for those experiencing homelessness in our area. As the youngest person ever to open a fund with CCGF, Celia aims to simplify giving through support from the Foundation and make contributing to those in need easily accessible to everyone in the community.

Celia is committed to continuing her philanthropic journey throughout her life. Her dedication to making a difference makes her a bright light in our community and an example to youth everywhere who have a heart for charity. An inspiration for people of all ages, her message is simple: No matter how old you are, you can make a positive difference in the world. Celia hopes that the HPIN Bridge Fund will inspire others to join her mission and support neighbors in need. Every member of the community is encouraged to get involved and give!
