Communities of Coastal Georgia

The Communities of Coastal Georgia annually awards funding from our Coastal Community Endowment to local organizations who are addressing our community's most pressing needs and have demonstrated the ability to impact those needs. Competitive grants have been awarded in various amounts ranging from a few hundred dollars to $5,000.

Thanks to the generosity of local donors who contribute directly to the Coastal Community Endowment, our unrestricted grantmaking fund, and indrectly through Donor Advised Funds, we are able to make grants throughout our Coastal Georgia community. Our  generous supporters are committed to making a positive impact on Coastal Georgia's current and evolving needs in an efficient, yet flexible way by donating unrestricted gifts to the endowment.

For those proposals that will, unfortunately go unfunded by the Foundation, we post as urgent needs for the consideration of all visitors to our website.  Our donors will often fund these requests as a demonstration of interest and care for the needs of our region.

Letters of Intent are submitted in the spring and RFPs are issued to qualifying nonprofits.  Proposal reveiws and site visits are conducted through late spring and early summer, with final grant determinations made and monies distributed in early August.
